As a trombonist for nearly 50 years, ex Head of Solihull Music Service, and Assistant Manager for The OHMI Trust my life is immersed in making music and helping everyone to do the same. The challenge of making all instruments accessible to those with physical limitations is one that has presented throughout my career, and my resolve to try to enable undifferentiated access to music for everyone has strengthened over the years. Within OHMI we have seen many innovative designs put forward that make individual instruments more accessible, but as each becomes established so potential improvements become apparent, and our constant challenge is to try to improve on our previous best. My hope is therefore that this project will allow us to take another step forward in enabling more people to make music on the instrument that I love most.
