I am a recently retired Head of Music at a large secondary school academy and am now looking to bring my expertise and enthusiasm to a range of music community projects. As Head of Music, I was responsible for making music accessible to all students, regardless of their personal circumstances. I had always recognised that their were financial barriers that various Music Hub projects like First Access and the Instrument Hire Scheme were trying to overcome, but I hadn't really appreciated the difficulties that learners with physical disabilities had to face. I am therefore determined to apply my budget management skills and use my network of local primary and secondary school contacts to find creative ways of procuring musical instruments that are really 'inclusive to all'.
